Andrew Hildebrand, Blairstown Pioneer, Dies in 87th Year

Blairstown, Oct. 24 – Andrew Jack Hildenbrand, 87, pioneer of Blairstown, died this morning at a nursing home in Belle Plaine where he was taken last Saturday.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Hildebrand, he was born in Ohio, March 23, 1857, and came to Iowa when he was seven years old. With the exception of those seven years, he was a life-long resident of this community. Some 57 years ago, Mr. Hildebrand married Viola Heck of Blairstown. She preceded him in death by a number of years.
Surviving are eight of his ten children — Mrs. Lillie Lillis, Jim and Eldo, all of Blairstown; Mrs. Lucy Kern, Mrs. Minerva Coder, George H. and Mrs. Clara Dinsmore, all of Clinton, and Mrs. Ruth Herrick of Flint, Mich. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Minnie Trolsen of Waukegan, Ill. For the last 14 years Mr. Hildenbrand made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Lillis in Blairstown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o’clock at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. J.B.C. Peck in charge. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
