Joann Catherine Peppel
Columbiana, OH – Joann Catherine Peppel, 77, died at 11:17 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Parkside Health Care Center.
Mrs. Peppel was born July 9, 1936 in Turtle Creek, PA a daughter of the late of Joseph F. Little and Rita McGuiggan Little Aiello and had lived in this area all of her life.
Joann was a homemaker and a member of Zion Hill Church of the Brethren.
She had also worked at Hansell’s Dress Shop in Columbiana for several years. Joann loved reading and encouraged others to read. She sent books to underprivileged children in both foreign countries and here in the states as well as her own family. She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her husband, Donald R. Peppel, whom she married on April 20, 1953, preceded her in death on December 15, 2012.
She is survived by three daughters, Debra (Lars) Skotte of Cowan, TN, Donna (Mark) Nash of Macon, GA and Deanne “DJ” (Ron) Gesaman of Huntsville, AL; a son, David “Pete” Peppel of Columbiana and several half siblings. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Wayne Peppel; a sister, Joyce Felger; her step mother, Ruth Slagle Little and two half brothers, Joseph Craig Little and James Donald Little.
Burial in Columbiana Cemetery.
