Gary L Nesselrod *
Gary Lee Nesselrod, age 65 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Monday morning, September 23, 2024, at his residence after a brave battle with cancer. Born on August 11, 1959, in Petersburg, WV, he was a son of the late Benson Dibbs Nesselrod and Nina Mae See Nesselrod. An infant son, a son-in-law, Wesley, a half-brother, a nephew and a brother-in-law also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Old Fields Baptist Church.
A man of the land, Gary found joy in farming and working as a local arborist and timber cutter over the years. His dedication and hard work were evident in his service to various establishments, including Charles Champ Logging and Ours’ Valley View Farm. Gary’s warm and easygoing nature endeared him to many, and his love for tending to the earth and spending time with loved ones will forever be etched in our memories.
Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Regina Paula Shockey Nesselrod; a daughter, Gail N. Sager of Morgantown, WV; a son, Gary “Bud” (Savanna) Nesselrod, Jr. and children, Sadie & Wyatt of Kearneysville, WV; his beloved dog “Dimey”’ brothers, Norman “Pete” Nesselrod of Moorefield, WV and Tom Nesselrod of Old Fields, WV; a sister, Mary Hawk of Petersburg, WV; five nieces and a special friend, Gary See, II.
Join us in honoring his memory at the upcoming funeral services to be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastors Dan Howard and Russell Webster officiants. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields, WV. Let us come together to celebrate the remarkable impact Gary had on all those he encountered from 5 – 7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
