Genevieve Shockey *
Genevieve Gayle Shockey, 86, Friedens, died September 25, 2024 at The Patriot. Born February 16, 1938 in Windber, daughter of Arline Riley.
Preceded in death by her mother, son Gregory, granddaughter Kari Allyn Pucci, and sisters Danette Schumacher and Susan Spiese.
Survived by her husband of 67 years, Willard; children: Gayle (David) Simone, Kent, OH, Lori (Timothy) Pucci, Friedens, and Shawn (Melissa) Shockey, Mullica Hills, NJ; grandchildren: Erin (Robbie) Katzenmeyer, Megan (Paul) Minotti, Kyle, Katelynn, and Kurt Pucci, Sarah and Grace Shockey; great grandchildren: Khloe and Logann Katzenmeyer, Paul “Trip”, Arline, and Winnie Minotti, Kaylee, Liam, Elijah, and Madelynn Pucci.
She was a 1956 graduate of Somerset High School. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir. Former member of Stoystown Lioness Club, Friedens Mothers’ Club, and Friedens Hunt Club. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed following her family in sports.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Friedens Lutheran Church where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev John Barichivich and Rev. Doug Knupp officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.
