Fonda J Shockey *
Fonda Jane Shockey, 65, of Fayetteville, West Virginia passed away, Friday, October 18, 2024, at home. Fonda was born on March 30, 1959, in Beckwith, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Shirley Canterbury.
Fonda was a medical transporter at Fayette County Senior Programs. She went above and beyond for her seniors because she loved them very much.
She loved her church family at Gum Spring Baptist Church. Fonda loved cooking, gardening, canning, playing Bluegrass music, fishing, camping, and spending time with her family, which she loved to treat like gold.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Timmy, Scotty, and Gary Canterbury; a sister, Paula Gilliam; a mother-in-law, Nina Shockey; and a stepfather, Robert Hanshew.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Raymond; a son, Heath (Julie); 2 granddaughters, Ryley and Ashton Shockey; a grandson, Roman Best; sisters, Anita Smart, Karen Bainer (Steve), Becky Wood (Bruce); a brother, Jeff Canterbury (Sandy); a sister, Vicki Canterbury; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Parks (Dan), Sally Miller, Ginger Shockey, Tommy Shockey, Mark Shockey (Renee), Shannon Shockey; a uncle Mark Canterbury; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service to honor and remember Fonda will be held at a later date.
