Merle W. Shockey
Merle W. Shockey, 81, of Severna Park, Maryland, a former printing supervisor, died of heart failure on 19 Dec 1983. He had been ill for a month.
Mr. Shockey retired 20 years ago as supervisor of the printing department of McCormick and Co. in Baltimore.
He was born in Braddock, Pa., and moved to Baltimore as a child. He built a Summer home in Severna Park in 1939 and moved there about 1958.
He was a member of the Pasadena United Methodist Church for the past 25 years.
The widower of Virginia Taylor Shockey who died in 1976, he is survived by a son, Edward F. of Severna Park; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and brother, Kenneth of Dundalk, Md. Mr. Shockey was also the father of Merle Jr., who died in 1978.
He was buried in Lorraine Park Cemetery in Woodlawn.
