OELWEIN – Betty A. Resor, 79, of Toledo, and formerly, of Oelwein, died Sunday morning, Nov. 16, 2014, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Carol Hamilton officiating.
Visitation is at 10 a.m., to service time on Friday at the funeral home.
Inurnment is at Mederville Cemetery, rural Elkader.

Betty Ann Gessner was born Sept. 23, 1935, at Marengo, the daughter of George H. and Mary Lillian (Lillis) Gessner. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Oelwein in 1953. On Sept. 29, 1956, she was united in marriage to Dale Frank Resor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. Betty was employed as a receptionist at KOEL, librarian in medical records at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters and as a cook at the Oelwein High School. In 1983, Betty and Dale moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where she worked as an apartment manager and senior center complex manager for Metropolitan Associates. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Toledo.
Betty is survived by her husband, Dale Resor of Toledo; daughter, Lori Resor of Toledo; two sons, Alan (Linnie) Resor of Williston, ND, and Jeff Resor of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; a great grandson; mother-in-law, Opal Wright of Strawberry Point; sister, Karen (Dean) Hanson of Atwater, Mn.; brother,-in-law, Pete Meyer of Postville; and a sister-in-law, Janie Gessner of Sacramento, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jennifer Resor; brother, Paul Gessner; and a sister, Sharron Meyer.
