Diane Shockey *
Diane Marie “Fuzz” Shockey, age 73 of Emmitsburg, MD passed away at Gettysburg Hospital on October 4, 2024. Born December 13, 1950, in Gettysburg PA. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Sally (Shields) Shockey.
She is survived by her best friend Cheryl “Sherri” Crum, numerous cousins, friends and her church family.
She was predeceased by grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was loved by many for her kind, giving and loving nature. She worked for Mt. St. Mary’s College for over 45 years until she retired. She was an active member of her beloved St. Anthony Parish. She prepared the alter for mass with care a compassion. She also devoted her time, food and love to caring for the stray cats near her home. She loved playing Bingo, and she was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Shine Parish, 16150 St. Anthony Road, Emmitsburg, MD. Interment will follow the mass at St. Anthony Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony’s Shrine Rectory Restoration Fund 16150 St. Anthony Road, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
