Donald E Adkins *

Donald Edward , 70, of Cannel City, died Saturday, November 12, at Veterans Medical Center in Lexington following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Adkins was born March 10, in Elliott County, a son of the late Lonnie D. & Audra (Whitt) Adkins. He was a retired maintenance department employee of General Electric , a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Adkins.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Sue Finch Adkins to whom he was united in marriage to on April 3, ; two sons, Leonard D. and Shonna Adkins and Gregory D. and Ellen Adkins, all of Cannel City; three sisters, Lovena and Wayne Bolinton, Carol Jean Ratliff, and Joyce Ann Reynolds, all of Bright, ; three grandchildren, Joshua Scott and Carol Adkins, Chadwick Ryan Adkins, Makayla Nicole Adkins ; two step-grandchildren, Alex Craft and Austin Craft.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15 at and and Halsey Funeral Chapel with Elder Donovan Finch and Elder Rick officiating.

Burial followed in the Fork Cemetery at Cutuno, Kentucky with Herald and Stewart and Halsey Funeral Home of West Liberty in charge of arrangements. Military rites were conducted at the graveside by Morgan County D.A.V.

Pallbearers were family and friends.
