Eva West *
EVA JEAN BASHAM WEST, (Mamaw Jean) 92 of Cross Lanes went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Jean graduated Nitro High School in 1949, was a member of Community Chapel, Maranatha Fellowship and attended New Beginnings Church. She enjoyed trips to Hinton and Alderson and loved to shop in Lewisburg. Her relaxing time was spent gardening and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her, husband, Jack L. West, parents; William Arthur Basham and Rena Wandling Basham, siblings; Isabel Tinsley, Lonnie Rowsey, Clara Faye Blackshire, Albert Basham and son-in-law, Paul (Binny) Shockey.
She is survived by her 4 daughters: Debbi (Rick) Boggess, Pam Shockey, Jennifer (Mark) Burch and Jackie West; brother and sisters-in-law Tom and Sonja West, Charlotte West, and Peggy Basham; 9 grandchildren; Heather (Eric), Staci (Brett), Andria, Ricky (Allison), Mark Samuel (Elyssa), Erica, Morgan (Jon), Matthew (Emmalea), Dusty (Josie); 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
A celebration of everlasting life will be held 12 p.m., Friday, June 14 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mitchell Burch officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens.
