Harry R Shockey *
Shockey, Harry Richard, – 91, of Hammonton, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at Juniper Village in Williamstown, NJ with his loving family by his side. Harry was born in Atlantic City, NJ and graduated from Hammonton High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. After that, he fell in love and married His beloved “Joanie”. Harry was a Toll Testman for Bell Telephone in the Hammonton Office for over 40 years and was a member of the M.B. Taylor Masonic Lodge # 141 of Hammonton, NJ. With a love for the outdoors, you could find him playing tennis on Sundays at the High School with his friends, skiing down his favorite mountain, or playing golf on local courses. Harry was a devoted father and husband who was always full of love and laughter. He was usually described as “ornery”, and Joan was nicknamed “Saint Joan” for always putting up with his antics. He is predeceased by his daughter Mary Ellen, parents Robert and Elsie, brother, Robert and his sister June Link. He is survived by his loving wife Joan Elizabeth (nee Kier), children, Wayne Shockey (Cheryl) of Hammonton, NJ, Diane Curatola (Robert) of Hammonton, NJ, Beverly Shockey of Hammonton, NJ and Julie Misita (Michael) of Williamstown, NJ. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Brandon (Nicole) and Nicole Curatola, Eric (Anna) and Brian Shockey and Michael and Matthew Misita. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ. Masonic Services and Funeral Ceremony will start at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 500 White Horse Pike, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
