Herbert Shockey was convicted with two life sentences for the two counts of first degree murder of a couple from New York when they were in Arizona on vacation in 1964. His girlfriend, Theresa Robichaud, was arrested as well.

He also went by James Vanderham when living in Fresno, CA. Herbert apparently was also released from Federal Prison in 1963 not sure what he was in for at that time.
