Jackie Miller *
JACKIE RAY “MONK” MILLER of Abilene, Texas, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2021, surrounded by family. Jack was born March 5, 1937, to Edward Lee and Ilene Miller in Florala, Covington County, Alabama. He served 6 years in the Air Force, was a member of the John Sayles Masonic Lodge #1408, and was currently employed by Hendrick Medical Center. He married Marinell Shockey June 11, 1960, and they had 3 children. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clyde, Edward Lee Miller, Jr., and Cecil Eugene Miller. He is survived by his wife, Marinell of Abilene, son Jackie Ray Miller, Jr. of Abilene, daughter Deonna Faye Bourland and husband Jim of Abilene, daughter Rhonda Ilene Windsor and husband Bart of Euless; brother Johnny Duncan Miller and wife Judy of Brewton, AL, sister Debbie Manning and husband Frank of Florala, AL, brother William “Bill” Michael Miller and wife Terri of Florala, AL, grandchildren Jeffrey Heath Miller and wife Ashlee of San Angelo, Tyler Nicholus Miller and wife Julie of Las Vegas, Dustin Ray Miller of Abilene, Patricia Danielle Bogard and husband John of Abilene, Tiffany Ann Burns and husband Blake of Fort Worth, Andre’ Stephen Windsor and wife Amber of Fort Worth, great-grandchildren Leighton Joy Miller, Teagan Grayce Miller, Aspen Syanne Miller, Faira Dahlia Miller, Chloe Savannah Miller, Reagan Cait Burns and Hayden Reed Burns, Ivy Dawn Windsor and Addelyn Quinn Windsor and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews.
Services for Mr. Miller are set for Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Girdner Funeral Home, 141 Elm St., Abilene, Texas. Visitation at 12 pm, memorial service immediately following at 1 pm. Interment will be at a later date in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Abilene, Texas.
