Jacob Henry Shockey
JACOB HENRY SHOCKEY, aged 82 years, died Sunday morning at 11:30 o’clock at his home at Beartown. He suffered from a heart condition and had been in ill health for several years. He had been critically ill for the last two weeks. Mr. Shockey was born at Waynesboro, Route 1 the son of Christopher Columbus and Mary Jane (Schroyer) Shockey. Most of his life had been lived in Beartown. For fifteen years he lived in Monterey. He returned to Beartown about two months ago. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Shockey, Sabillasville and these children, Mrs. Edward P. Brown, Sabillasville; Mrs. John Reese, Waynesboro; Elmer, Waynesboro, Route 4; and Christopher, Blue Ridge Summit. Eighteen grand children and sixteen great grandchildren also survive. He was the last of his family.
