James E Bever *
James Earnest Bever Sr., 83, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV, following a sudden illness.
He was born May 8, 1941, in Ravenswood, WV, a son of the late John Earnest and Lona (Dotson) Bever. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
James was a graduate of Ravenswood High School, class of 1958, and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He later worked as a machinist for Dupont in Parkersburg with 30 years of service. He could fix and make anything and had the kindest personality. James enjoyed hunting, watching NCIS, telling stories and joking around. He truly was the rock of the family and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Linda (Shockey) Bever; son, James Bever Jr. (Beverly) of Ravenswood; daughter, Janet Martin (Ronnie) of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Branden Bever (Courtney), Amanda Bever, Bryan Bever (Sierra), Katie Gill (Matt), Lexi Martin; great grandchildren, Hayden Heath, Carter Bever, Fern Bever, Walden Bever; special dog, Hazel.
