Jean Timmons *

Jean of Marseilles, IL passed away unexpectedly on July 9, after a valiant 9 year battle with cancer. Jean was a loving, unique, and generous woman with a beautiful soul and a warrior’s spirit. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Jean Timmons was born in Ottawa, IL on November 6, to Eleanor Timmons (nee Coss) and Alvin Timmons. She graduated from Seneca High School in . She excelled in her career as a Radiation Protection Technician, and spent a large part of her career working for Westinghouse Nuclear. She traveled to many different cities around the country ensuring that power plant workers had a safe environment in which to do their important work.
Jean was an amazing mom to the many pets that were lucky enough to be loved by her over the years. She was endlessly supportive of her friends and family, and always the first person to lend a hand when needed. She was generous with her time and resources. She loved playing cards, sipping on a cold Bud Light while visiting with her friends and family, going on motorcycle runs, watching NASCAR and other auto racing, listening to music, shopping, and cooking.
She leaves behind her dog Briana, dog Hailey, dog Brandi, dog Marley, twin sister Mary Timmons, sister Lori (John) Cousins, sister Teresa (Jeffery) McNulty, sister Nancy (Louie) Tondini, aunt and mother figure Dee (Wendell) , niece Angie (Brian) Lowe, nephew Ricky (Alayna) Stubblefield, nephew Adam (Emalee) Tondini, nephew Drew (Jessica) Tondini, niece Janell (Becky) McBoom, nephew Jeff , nephew Todd Shockey, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is reunited in Heaven with her dog Kyria, dog Sasha, dog Sebastian, mother Eleanor Timmons, sister Joann (Richard) Stubblefield, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jean’s death leaves a hole in the lives of everyone that loved her. There will never be another person like her, but we can carry her spirit with us by loving loudly and living each to the fullest. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24th from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Marseilles Lions Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pet Project in Marseilles (www.petprojectinc.org) would be greatly appreciated.
