John D Shockey *

John Dailey , Jr., 65, of Cumberland, MD passed away 29, at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born January 27, and raised in Romney, WV & Oldtown, MD he was the son of the late Dottie Kesner and John D. Shockey, Sr.; he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Gaughan.
John graduated from Oldtown School. He worked as a commercial truck driver for several companies, and had a career with the United States Postal Service driving a mail truck for 18 years before retiring. John was a very active LaVale Volunteer Department firefighter for years where he made many lifelong friends.
He loved to , go to Ocean City, and the casino.
Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Debbie Shockey; daughters, Beth, Tiffany, Joelle, and Christina; sons, JD (Katie), Joshua (Cindy), and Nathan; nine grandchildren, with a 10th on the way; and one greatgrandchild; siblings, Debbie (Steve) and Amanda (Mike); and like a brother, Roger (Brenda); and his extended family including nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and services will be private. Inurnment will be in Cemetery, Cumberland, MD.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to his many doctors, especially Dr. Stasko, Dr. Mareedu, Terry N.P., and Dr. . Also thank you to the ICU team, he had the care ever with you, his nurses went over and above with continual care.
