LaVerne Hardy *

On Thursday, April 08, 2021, LaVerne (Hatch) Hardy wife and mother of 3 passed away at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was 81 years old.
LaVerne was born on the July 20th, 1939 to Jerry LaVerne Hatch and Helen Gail Glines Hatch in Fallon, Nevada.
LaVerne attended Mineral County High School in Hawthorne, Nevada where she met the love of her life. Strong-willed with great determination she would be his forever soul mate, but not having the full approval from her parents was going to be a challenge. Who was this Jim Character? Why so important? Though they knew the Hardys very well, they had concerns.
LaVerne’s parents were afraid because he was sick and not expected to live. He might die at a young age leaving her with babies to raise on her own. Which of course was just the opposite, but who knew.
Her father would not attend her wedding. Her mother took a change of heart because she knew it would do no good to try and stop it. She signed with her permission. LaVerne’s mother and Jim’s little sister Millie in tow they left for Vista, California.
LaVerne married the love of her life James Lloyd Hardy on November 17th, 1952. LaVerne and Jim would have a wonderful life.
LaVerne was a very compassionate person and a giving person, was known well for feeding the hobos from the trains. Jim had to tell her to cool it because it was getting out of hand. Reluctantly she turned them away each day one by one till they stopped. But trust when I say she found other things to do with her BFF Millie, Jim’s little sister.
On July 1st, 1957 their 1st son Timothy Guy Hardy was born. Then followed Tyerone Frank Hardy on October 9th, 1959.
Then their girl Sandra Adriene Hardy on May 7th, 1963. Their wonderful family was complete.
On June 3rd, 1967 LaVerne was sealed to her best friend James Lloyd Hardy for Time and all Eternity in the Oakland Temple.
LaVerne loved the Gospel. Her dedication to the Savior and her family. Belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the most important thing in her life.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband James Lloyd Hardy, her parents, grandparents, and other family members.
LaVerne leaves behind her two sons Timothy Guy Hardy, Tyerone Frank Hardy wife (April D. Wheeler Hardy) and her daughter Sandra Adriene Hardy and foster daughter Sharon Randall, all of Nampa.
8 grandchildren in no particular order, Lisa Lacovelli , Kristina Roberts, Brandon Hardy, Rochelle (Zhukov) Hardy, Tyson Hardy, Joshua Hardy, Tina McNeiece and Pam Randall.
