Leslie D Courtney *
Leslie Dale Courtney, 71, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on August 9, 1953 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He is the son of Floyd David and Neita Mae (Craig) Courtney. Leslie went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at his residence in Elk City, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.
Leslie married his best friend and soul mate, Juanita Faye Shockey on July 7, 1978 at Elk City, Oklahoma. He worked for ODOT, during his time there he did many different jobs but driving the grader was his favorite. Leslie retired after thirty years of service.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting deer, camping, cooking out, mowing the lawn, which he made sure was always straight. Leslie loved spending all the time he could with his grandchildren and his family. He was a avid OU fan, and also enjoyed spending time with his four legged friend, Sarge.
Leslie was a lifetime member of the NRA as well as an active member of Gateway Church, Elk City, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2025 at Gateway Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Chasten Musick will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing his memory is his loving wife of forty-six years, Juanita Faye Courtney of Elk City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Starla Hay and her husband, Brian of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Trena Moler of Elk City, Oklahoma, Kathleen Courtney of Sentinel, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Courtney and his wife Lou Ella of Yukon, Oklahoma, David Courtney and his wife, Teana of Barling, Arkansas; two sisters, Terry Courtney of Elk City, Oklahoma, Brenda Adkins and her husband, Raymond of Sayre, Oklahoma; aunt, Helen Jo Chester, Elk City, Oklahoma.
Leslie is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd David and Neita Mae Courtney.
