Lisa Rose *

Lisa Gayle Johnson , of Stanton, beloved wife, nanny, mother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 7, at 4:20PM. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love, resilience, faith, and devotion to family that began on January 22, when she was born to Hayden Johnson and Juanita Clay Combs Johnson. She was received in heaven by her parents, as well as her ‘irish’ twin brother, Kevin Stewart Johnson, her sister, Connie Johnson , niece, Brittany Osborne, and many other loved ones who went on before her. Lisa is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 48 years and high school sweetheart, Danny Clay Rose. They established their life in Stanton, Kentucky filling it with enduring love and memories, and an unwavering devotion to their children, Marissa Gayle (Jason Lee) Rose and Shannon Chase (Megan) Rose. Her niece Autumn Osborne (Matt) Sebey and treasured aunt Betty (and the late Walter) Hampton, who will forever hold her in their hearts, as well as many others. Lisa was a best friend and inspiration to all who knew her. Her greatest pride was her grandchildren, Flynn Michael Cornett, Lincoln Clay Shockey, Hannah Osborne, Abigayle Dawn Rose, Elijah Chase Rose, Bella Waller, and Addie Hires. Lisa shared a special bond with her paternal uncle and “aunt” Teddy and June Johnson, whom she cared for later in life and was greeted by them as well. Despite her own illnesses and challenges, she remained a source of strength and steadfast love for her family. For many years Lisa served as a secretary and bookkeeper at the Powell County Circuit Clerk’s Office. She served this county with pride, dedication, grace, and true love for the people and her home town. A spirited part of the community’s heartbeat, she advocated for organ donation, a deeply personal, meaningful cause with such determination. She retired early and despite her illness she remarkably spent a big part of her life spoiing grandkids whom she loved and adored. Lisa enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and she has long enjoyed her family trips to Myrtle Beach. She loved poetry and reading, especially cherishing her nightly routine of listening to Danny read the Bible. Lisa was a woman of great faith and a strong believer in Jesus Christ, and while building her family foundation on Him. She was known for her beauty, grace, resiliency, always showing quiet strength. Her life was a testament to the simple pleasures, unconditional love, and strength standing by those she cherished. She is deeply missed. Services Monday, May 12,2:00PM by Bro. Jay Parks, Wells Funeral Home. Visitation Sunday 5-9pm at the funeral home. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery with Jay Parks, Mike Smyth, Tim , Bryan Parks, Shannon Rose, and Reuben Derickson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers serving, Gale and Judy Means, Lisa Johnson, Townsend, Debbie McCarty, Billie Ann & Bubby Fugate, the staff of Hospice East and Palliative Care.
