Lorene had such a strong desire to finish her high school education since circumstances had prevented her from doing so. One of her proudest achievements was not only getting her GED but subsequently taking several college courses including Algebra, Computer Basics, & Photography. She aced them all.
Lorene was very creative. She had an eye for decorating and got a job at a local florist company. Eventually she started her own company which included floral services, wedding consulting & planning, & church decorating. She owned and operated this company for several years.
Lorene was so proud of her children Sherree Renee and Clinton Jr. Sherree became a teacher and later owned her own jewelry business. She married Paul Sevar and they had two children Zachary and Ethan who were Lorene’s only grandchildren. Her son Clinton became a surgeon and has not only owned his own practice but has led critical care units in several hospitals. He married Aviya Haver and they currently reside in Joplin, Missouri, where he is the Medical Director of Trauma at Mercy Hospital.
Lorene and C. J. moved to Nacogdoches, Texas, in 2002 to be near her children & grandchildren. She lived there until her death. She became a member of Calvary Baptist Church where her son-in-law pastors and the rest of the family are members. She loved her Sunday School class, was a member of Joyful Sound Choir, and served on the floral team.
Some of Lorene’s favorite pastimes included playing dominoes with her grandchildren Zach & Ethan and going to their basketball & baseball games. She loved to sew, read, & go shopping with her daughter. She loved fashion and enjoyed dressing with flair.
Lorene was passionate about her faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart and the Word of God was most precious to her. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. And although her passing may be final on the earth, we who believe & know Jesus will see her again. We rejoice in all she was and celebrate her beautiful life.
