Miss Evelyn Shockey
MISS EVELYN SHOCKEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Shockey, died at the Pennsylvania State Sanitorium, Hamburg, Pa., on Tuesday morning at 2:30 o’clock, of complications, after an illness of one year, aged 23 years. She was a student nurse, at the Washington County Hospital, but was forced to abandon her training because of ill health. She was a graduate of the York High School and a member of the Church of the Brethren. Besides her parents she is survived by two brothers, John and Charles, both of this city; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Miller, York, Pa.; a step-sister, Miss Maybelle Cushen, York, Pa.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Shockey. Waynesboro, Pa. The body was brought to town on Wednesday evening, and taken to the funeral home of A. K. Coffman, where services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Rev. A. B. Miller. The pallbearers will be members of her Sunday school class. Interment in Rest Haven Cemetery.
