Mrs. Katie May Hoover
MRS. KATIE MAY HOOVER, 95, died suddenly at the home of her daughter Mrs. Anna Barncord, 25 S. Church, at 6:30 a.m. this morning. She was born at Ringgold, Maryland, April 28, 1871, daughter of the late Henry and Hattie (Shockey) Motz. Mrs. Hoover had been living with her children since her husband, Abram D. Hoover passed away Nov. 12, 1942. The past five years, she had been living with her daughter. Her early life was lived around Ringgold and Chambersburg. She was a member of the First EUB Church, Waynesboro, and was the last of her family of five children. Mrs. Hoover is survived by the following children: Charles Hoover and Willis Hoover, both of York; Mrs. Ann Barncord and Emmett Hoover, both of Waynesboro; Mrs. Clyde Rosenberger, Franklintown; three step-daughters, Mrs. Clifford Bowman, Hagerstown R. D. 5; Mrs. Blair Robinson, Oregan, Ill; and Mrs. Victor Brown, Lantz, Md; 27 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Elwood E. Needy. Interment will be in Ringgold Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
