Mrs. Mary A. Shockey

MRS. MARY A. , 71, wife of Ross R. Shockey, died at 5:15 a.m. today at her home, 852 Ringgold St. She had been in failing health since April, 1962, when she suffered a stroke, and had been confined to her bed since last September.  She was born near Waynesboro, September 14, 1891, a daughter of the late C. Brant and Clara Heckman Vincent. All of her life was lived in the Waynesboro area and she had lived at the Ringgold Street address since her marriage in December, .  She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.  In addition to her husband she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Virginia Spoonhoor and Vincent 0. Shockey, both of Fayetteville; Robert R. Shockey Garnet L. Shockey, C. Eugene Shockey and Paul D. Shockey, all of Waynesboro; step-children Mrs. Fred , Gettysburg, Mrs. Stoops, Chambersburg R. D. 5, and Mrs. Robert W. Snurr, Waynesboro. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and these brothers and sisters, Mrs Walter , ; Mrs. Armatha Weeks, and Harry Vinson, both of Philadelphia; Norman Vinson, Waynesboro R. D. 2; William J. Vinson, and Mrs. Charles Mullenix, both of Hagerstown.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Samuel H. , Jr. Burial will be in Green Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
