Mrs. Ruth Anna Shockey
MRS. RUTH ANNA (PRYOR) SHOCKEY, aged 79 years, died Sunday afternoon 1:12 o’clock at her home, 411 Fairview avenue following an extended illness, dating from the death of her husband, John H. Shockey in November 1936. She had been critically ill and confined to her bed since May. Mrs. Shockey was born at Wolfsville, Md., and the greater part of her married life had lived in the Marsh district and for the last twelve years had lived in Waynesboro. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Surviving are three sons, Ernest and Charles, Washington, D. C., John I., Waynesboro and two daughters, Mrs. John Toms, Hagerstown and Mrs. Gertrude Trostle, at home. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday alternoon at 2 o’clock from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. K. Zelgler and the Rev. R. D. Crees. Interment will be made in Green Hill cemetery. The body may be viewed Tuesday evening 7 to 9 o’clock at the Grove Funeral Home.
