Robert E Shockey II *

Robert E. II (Bob), a.k.a “Wolfman”, age 67, son of Robert and Mary Shockey, passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart condition on Wednesday, January 20, , at Reading Hospital. Bob spent most of his life in Willow Grove and his last 14 years in Womelsdorf, PA. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War then returned home to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Penn State University.

Bob’s passion in life was photography. He pursued a career as a self-employed photojournalist and was retired at the time of his death. , he was known to carry his very large camera everywhere he went, always on the lookout for the next great shot. Over his lifetime, he has accumulated hundreds of thousands of photos across many subjects, including American history, often taking his children on tours of historic sites, battlegrounds, and museums and capturing these special moments on film.

For those who met him, it’s impossible to forget his larger than life personality, hands full of rings, full sleeve tattoos, and his ice eyes. Underneath the veneer, he genuinely cared about people and was there whenever they needed him, offering his council or making a call to someone that could get them out of a situation. And it’s possible that his heart ran on Dunkin Donuts coffee.

Bob loved his family deeply and will be dearly missed by three sons, Robert Shockey, Jason Shockey, and Shockey; three daughters, Savannah , Alexis Shockey, and Anastasia Shockey; three brothers, William Shockey, Joseph Shockey, and Michael Shockey; two sisters, Mary Kelly, and Ann Maureen ; four grandchildren, Anthony, Alexander, Julia, and Jasmine Shockey; and the mothers of his children, Shockey and Michele Kelly.
