Ronald L. Shockey *
Indianapolis – Ronald L. Shockey, 73, Indianapolis, passed away on December 24, 2020, after an extended illness. Ron was born October 10, 1947, in Batesville, to the late Patrick and Edna (Boyd) Shockey. He married Sharon (Schmidt) on June 26, 1976, and she survives.
Ron graduated from Versailles High School. He worked for more than 25 years for H & H Bulk Transport, as a dump truck driver and later in dispatch. An avid outdoorsman, Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, and watching NASCAR. When his health permitted, he also enjoyed the friendships created through his involvement in a dart league. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Ron will be fondly remembered by his loving family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sharon; children, Ron (Julie) and Sarah (Daniel) Duffer; grandchildren, Eric, Elissa and Eddie Shockey; Nathan, Noah, and Eleanor Duffer.
Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2020, 10 am to 11:30 a.m., in St. Mark Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
