Sharon S Sturgeon *

Sharon Sue (Gaul) Sturgeon age 69 of Point Pleasant, WV passed away early Monday April 21, 2025, while at Rivers Health Center in Point Pleasant.
Sharon was born March 31, 1956, in Point Pleasant, the only daughter to the late Fred W. Gaul Sr. and Phylis Mae Sines in 1973 Sharon married the love of her life Bill Sturgeon and they began their family here in Point Pleasant. Even though Bill passed away on August 26, 2014, Sharon was hopelessly devoted to her soulmate until she took her last breath early Monday morning.
Sharon was a homemaker early on but did do some work outside the home including working the local doughnut house, and the n one day she received a call of fate from her aunt that was short and to the point. Her aunt told her that she needed to come into her office at Gaul’s Tax service so she could teach her how to run things because her aunt was sick and needed someone to take over the family business and the rest is history.
Sharon was a fabulous woman with a heart of gold, she would go above and beyond to help all her clients during the tax season. She had a strong love for her family which meant everyone in her family, she was a mentor and a mother figure for many and treated the same as if she had birthed them herself.
She was a known gardener, as long as that garden consisted of rose’s her home and office were the backdrop to the large and luscious rose garden that massed half a city lot there on the corner of North Main and High St. it truly was a magical spot whether you loved rose’s or not you had to appreciate the simple beauty in her creation.
Sharon had a love of her trips with Bill and the family to the casinos, and she enjoyed the horse races, but she had a strict rule on her trips she never over did it, she only took her planned daily funds with her and never was tempted to find the ATM should she not have the luck she had hoped. This was a rule she enforced on Bill as well as her kids never break that rule, she would tell them, probably sticking to that rule is what allowed her to enjoy the trips and the excitement over the years.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her soulmate Bill Sturgeon and her brother Fred Gaul.
Surviving she leaves behind her daughters; Victoria (Willard) Wolford and Kimberly (Shawn) Bryant, grandkids; Katelynn Ebert Lewis, Abigail Wolford, Quintin Wolford, Haley Bryant, Gabe Corbin, Andrew Wolford, Hannah Bryant and Cameron Corbin, and one great-grandchild Maggie Lewis nieces and nephews ( who she considered her kids) Will and Maria Gaul, LeighAnn and Gregg Yarborough, Keith Shockey, along with Rhonda, Valerie, Dean, Jess, Sam, Anette, Kevin, Jason, Lee, Caden, Christopher and many great nieces and nephews along with her lone surviving brother, Kevin ( Linda) Gaul and a host of family, extended family and friends that will all deeply miss her.
There will be a memorial service for Sharon at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home on Friday April 25, 2025, at 1:00 with Carl “Boxer ” Swisher officiating and the family will welcome guests one hour prior.
