Sue Lackey *
Sue Lackey (born Priscilla Sue Ritchie) passed away on Jan. 29, 2022, at the home of her daughter in Fountain City, Tennessee, with her family by her side.
She was born on Nov. 5, 1937, to Orville, and Laura Bayliff Ritchie, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert of Wapakoneta, and Richard of Uniopolis, sons David Harrod of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Russell Harrod of Lenoir City, Tennessee, and grandson Cory Brown of Lenoir City, Tennessee.
Following the death of her first husband James Harrod, she was left to raise their four children alone. Later, she married Ned Coon. Together, they had twin sons, Tim and Matthew. Her final marriage was to Richard Lackey, until his passing, in 2018.
Her favorite pastimes included spending time on her grandparents' farm outside of Waynesfield, dancing at Norm's Place Lounge with her husband, and cooking chicken pot pie. Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn were two of her favorite musical artists, while her favorite automobile was the red 1955 Ford Thunderbird.
Sue worked at Revella in Lima, and Fisher Cheese, in Wapakoneta. She received her greatest sense of achievement through working as a home health aide many times throughout her life. Community involvement was a cornerstone of Sue's life, as she devoted much of her time to helping the elderly, volunteering at the St. Joe 4th of July picnic, as well as Agape in St. Marys. She was proud of the fact that she passed out Christmas cookies for almost 50 years.
Sue is survived by her brother, Donald Ritchie of Uniopolis, son Mike Harrod of Lewisburg, Tennessee, daughter Therese (Rick) Mynatt of Lenoir City, Tennessee, son Tim (Pamela) Coon of Wapakoneta, son Matthew (Amy) Coon of McCordsville, Indiana, and step-daughter Patricia Werst of Celina. She is also survived by granddaughter Cassie (Chris) Hall of Lenoir City, Tennessee, granddaughter Colleen Warf of Lewisburg, Tennessee, step-grandson Michael Dailey of Centerville, Ohio, step-grandson James Dailey of Miamisburg, Ohio, step-granddaughter Laura Dailey of Wapakoneta, and step-granddaughter Kasey Dailey of Port Charlotte, Florida. She also has eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, there will be no public visitation. Bayliff and Son Funeral Home will be conducting graveside services, at Fairmount Cemetery on February 13, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared at BayliffAndSon.com
