Warren Shockey
WARREN SHOCKEY KILLED IN ACTION IN PACIFIC
Relatives of Warren Shockey have been notified by the war department that he was killed in action in December in the Southwest Pacific area where he had been serving in the Marines the past year. He joined the Marines two years ago and arrived in the islands a year ago.
He was a nephew of Mrs. Fred Vogel of Iola, and Mrs. Alice Hall and Howard Shockey, who live north of town. He was born and reared in Iola and has four brothers in the service. They are Harley, Maurice, Lloyd and Orville Shockey. He also has two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Rathbun of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Agnes Chatterton of Green Forest, Ark.
