William A Shockey *
William Anthony “Tony” Shockey, age 67, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025. Tony was born on May 9, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to Leroy Baxter Baird and Lois Ann Baird Shockey.
Tony proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and later dedicated his career to food service as a butcher. He was a man who deeply valued hard work, family, and the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was fishing, camping, enjoying long drives, or spending time outdoors, Tony found joy in nature and adventure. He had a passion for working on cars and woodworking, and he especially cherished trips to Indiana and Houston.
On June 2, 1979, Tony married the love of his life, Yvonne Owens, in Triangle, Virginia. Together, they built a life full of love and memories in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Yvonne; his children, Theresa Lopez of Houston, Texas, and Christopher Shockey of Owatonna, Minnesota; and his nine grandchildren: Alissa, Madison, Chris Jr., Kaylee, Hailey, Joey, Jackie, Autumn, and Josh Jr.
He is also survived by special friends Donn and Virginia Brown, Valerie Brown, and Alise and Matt Cheatham, who were like family to him. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Stacy Marie Shockey.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Tony’s life will take place on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 12:30 PM at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, followed by military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.
