Mrs. Viola Harper
March 13, 1933 – Death Sudden for County Woman – Funeral Held Saturday at Cemetery. Mrs. Viola Harper, 59, wife of J.L. (“Bud”) Harper, of Aylesworth, died at the family home Friday after an illness of only a few hours. Death was caused by hemorrhage of the brain and paralysis. Mrs. Harper was a member of the Presbyterian church, and had been a resident of Aylesworth community since statehood. Funeral services were held at Aylesworth Cemetery Saturday afternoon, followed by burial there. Rev. George A, Dale, Baptist Pastor of Madill, Watts Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Dave Wood, Gene Flynt, J. A. Ross, T. R. Johnston, E. L. Redman and C. C. Darrow. Survivors of Mrs. Harper and her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Helen Farris, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Harmon Spicer, Madill; two sons, Josh Harper, who is employed with the state Highway department, and Joe Harper of Aylesworth; a brother, John Shockey of Clarita, Okla; ten grand children, and one great grandchild.
