Lemeral Gene Shockey
Lemeral Gene “Meral” Shockey, 56, of Richmond, MO died at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
Meral was born on July 22, 1955 in Chadwick, MO to Wes and Zelma (Blacksher) Shockey. They preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, Sam and Penny Shockey of Richmond; Jeremiah Shockey of Oldfield, MO and Caleb Shockey of Richmond; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jim and Mary Shockey of Raymore, MO and Joe Shockey of Branson, MO; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sheila and Eddy Davis of Taneyville, MO, Barbara Shockey of Ozark, MO, Phyllis and Bob Lewis of Ash Grove, MO and Sharon Shockey of Rockaway, MO Eight grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, Meral was preceded in death by one daughter, Heather Shockey.
Meral was an aircraft mechanic for Covington Air. He had also worked at several saw mills and steel mills. He was a member of the House of Joy Church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lemeral Gene Shockey Memorial Fund.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the House of Joy in Richmond. Food and Fellowship will follow the services. Interment will be held at a later date.
