Paul Junior Shockey
Paul Junior Shockey, age 63 of Brandywine, WV passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Sentara RMH. He was born April 10, 1953 in Old Fields, WV, the son of the late George Edward (1-11-1978) and Louise Katherine (McDonald) Shockey (8-16-1989). On July 4, 1972 Paul married Joyce (Kimble) Shockey, his wife of 43 years, who survives in Brandywine.
Mr. Shockey attended Moorefield High School and he retired from Hanover Shoe where he worked in the Packing Department.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Shockey is survived by: 3 daughters, LouAnn Zirk of Petersburg, WV, Sheila Furry and husband William of Verona, VA, Melinda Shockey of Brandywine; 2 sisters, Mary Jane Bolton and husband Junior of Brandywine, Betty May and husband Garland of Sugar Grove, WV 4 brothers, Ray Shockey of Brandywine, George Shockey and wife Maude of Biglerville, PA, Roger Shockey of Old Fields, Wayne Shockey and wife Jean of Old Fields; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a granddaughter, Brittany Mauzy; a brother, Alvin Shockey; and 2 sisters, Dorothy Vandevander and Goldy Bolton.
Mr. Shockey’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 Noon-2:00 PM at the Brushy Run Church of God in Upper Tract, WV. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Church with Rev. Bruce Cosner officiating. Interment will be in the Bowers Cemetery on Jake Hill Road, Upper Tract.
