June Irene Shockey

June Irene (Fangman) , 62, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 30, .

June was born October 24, 1957, in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Wilbert Victor “Bill” and Lillian Frances (Olberding) Fangman. She was a 1975 graduate of Hiawatha High School, Hiawatha, .

June married C. “Tom” Shockey on February 28, in Hiawatha, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include her son, Thom (Amy) Shockey, III of Topeka; her daughter, Una (Justin) Harrison of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Jace, , Rylee, Samantha and Madison; a great-grandson, Joel; her father, Wilbert Victor “Bill” Fangman of , KS; four sisters, Shirley (Larry) Buller of Houston, TX, Sarah (Bill) Watts of Hutchinson, KS, Mary (Jim) of Newton, KS and Jill Marshall of Rose ; her brother, Thomas A. (Candy) Fangman of Park City, KS; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

June enjoyed spending time with family, especially grandchildren, traveling, photography, hot air balloon rallies, angels, genealogy and was “Mom” to the neighborhood children. Her favorite color was purple and her favorite flower was Lilacs. She loved to watch Survivor, Big Brother, and Sanford and Sons TV shows. June was a caring, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who always kept in touch. Honoring June’s request, cremation is planned.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.

In honor of June the family requests everyone wear purple to the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 13067, Alexandria, VA 22312 or to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N. Kansas, Topeka, KS 66608.
