Frederick H. Shockey
FREDERICK H. SHOCKEY, 66, of 183 South Water Street, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, where he had been admitted May 24. He had been in failing health the past six years. Mr. Shockey was the operator of the Golden Nugget and was a member of White Oak Lutheran Church and of the Arion Band. Born in Deal, Pa., he was a son of the late Herman and Susan (Werner) Shockey. Surviving are his wife, Laura (Cullen) Shockey; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Worthington, Carthage, Texas; Mrs. Winifred Deal, Columbus, Ga.; Mrs. Ruth Hetz and Mrs. Clara Ross, Cleveland, Ohio; two sons, Joseph Shockey, Cleveland, and John Shockey, here; four step-children, Mrs. Doris Wrzeniski, Baltimore; Raymond and Donald Mannick, Hyattsville, and Robert Mannick, at home; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Sass, Boswell, Pa.; Mrs. Earl Moore, Fairmont, W. Va.; three brothers, Howard Shockey, Meyersdale, Lewis E. and Robert F. Shockey, Meyersdale, R.D. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 until 9 p.m.
