Melvin Edward Heck
Funeral services for Melvin E. Heck, 72, 303 E. Tipton St., who died at 7 p.m. Friday in the Huntington Memorial Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Merckx-Hart Funeral Home, with Rev. Herschel Dyer Jr. officiating.
Pallbearers were Charles Newcomb, Charles Coates, Peter Ott, Robert Hosier, Earl Dinius and Charles Millner. Burial was in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Heck was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of the Erie Veterans Association and was employed as a foreman plumber with the Erie Railroad for 50 years.
He was born in Huntington County, Aug. 3, 1902, to Theodore and Etta Sicafoose (sic) Heck and his marriage was to Margaret B. Casper, who preceded him in death in 1962. He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr. Heck is survived by a sister, Mrs. Orville Snyder, Holland, Mich .”
