William Yereb Sr *
EAST PALESTINE – William Yereb, 70, of 49916 Route 14 died at 6:01 a.m. Wednesday at the Butler VA Medical Center in Butler, Pa., following a short illness.
Born May 29, 1918, in Strabane, Pa., he was a son of the late Lawrence and Agnes Harwait Yereb.
Mr. Yereb lived in the area for the past 33 years, coming from New Middletown. He had been a .. employee … … years, subcontracting for the Sebelton Construction Co. of Poland, Ohio. He was a sergeant in the Army during World War II and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal, the distinguished unit badge; the bronze star and good conduct medal. He was a member of the New Waterford Clipper Aerie 2415 FOE and the New Springfield VFW Post 2799.
He was preceded in death Jan. 20, 1988, by his wife, Betty J. Hagerty Yereb.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa D. Gregory of East Palestine; a son, William Yereb II of Lake Milton; two sisters, Ann Emerick and Mary Namit, both of Bennemer, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

Burial will be in the New Waterford Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the VanDyke-Swaney Funeral Home of East Palentine.
