Merl Jeremiah Seidner *
NEW SPRINGFIELD – Merl Jeremiah Seidner, 78, formerly of Petersburg and New Springfield, died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 2 p.m. Saturday in Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital, where he had been a patient six weeks.
Mr. Seidner had been ill 18 months. He was born July 5, 1891, in New Springfield, a son of Hosea and Naomi Heck Seidner. He was a retired farmer and lived in the area all his life. His first wife, the former Teresa Burkey, whom he married in 1913, died in 1954.
Besides his wife, the former Gertrude Connahan, whom he married Jan. 18, 1955, he leaves four daughters, Mrs. Ruth McMillen of Poland, Mrs. Iva Biss of Hillsdale, Pa., Mrs. Julia Leipply of New Springfield and Mrs. Doris Murphy of Cleveland; two step-daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Little and Mrs. Marianne Perevuznik, both of Trafford, Pa.; three sons, Everett of Petersburg, with whom he had made his home for 11 years, Charles of New Springfield and Roy of Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Vowell of Galt, Calif.; two brothers, Clyde of Manteca, Calif., and Raymond of Stockton, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren. One son, Arthur, died in 1945, and Harry, died in 1954.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Seiderly-Beilhart Funeral Home, North Lima, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
