Leila McCamon *
COLUMBIANA – Leila M. McCamon, 91, passed away early Wednesday morning, Oct. 5, 2016, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.
Mrs. McCamon was born Nov. 4, 1924 in New Springfield, a daughter of the late Clark and Alice (Heck) Reesh, and had lived in this area all of her life.
Leila was a homemaker and very active member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana. She loved sewing, gardening, shopping and traveling. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Jerusalem Lutheran Preschool and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Wayne R. McCamon, whom she married Dec. 8, 1946, died Feb. 10, 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Alan (Dinah) McCamon of Columbiana and Kevin McCamon of Leetonia; six grandchildren, Jena (Brian) Gustafson, Scott (Tara) Wilms, Dustin (Emily) Wilms, Kristin (Chris) Hawkins, Phillip (Lita) McCamon and Taylor McCamon; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Laurie Wilms and her sister, Elouise Wilhelm.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana.
A private funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, with burial to follow at Columbiana Cemetery.
