Harold “Bud” Smith, 72

BOARDMAN – Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Funeral Home for Harold “Bud” Smith, 72, who died Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 22, in Lima, a son of Harold and Olive Ramsey Smith, and was a lifelong area resident.

He retired from Wean United after 30 years of service and later worked at Michael’s Arts & Crafts in Boardman for seven years.

He was a bingo volunteer at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church and had been affiliated with St. Charles Church.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII as a machinist mate on the USS Warrington.

Besides his wife, the former Mary A. , whom he married May 31, , he leaves a son and daughter-in-, Thomas A. and Cindy Smith of ; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Lloyd Raynes of Akron; a sister, Panillo of Gurard; and three grandchildren, Tiffany Smith and Robyn and Jennifer Raynes.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Granlee and .

Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
