Mrs. M.J. Whitley
Mrs. M. J. Whitley, wife of J. M. Whitley, died at her residence, near Fincastle, O., January 11th, 1892, aged 32 years, 1 month and 22 days. Her maiden name was Shockey. She was married to her now bereaved husband January 5th, 1878. She united with the U. B. Church at Fincastle nearly seven years ago under the ministerial labors of the present pastor and was faithful to her profession. Her death was not only peaceful, but triumphant, and manifested Christ’s power to help in time of need and was a strong evidence of the excellency of the Christian religion to all who witnessed it.
Her funeral, conducted by the writer, was preached in Fincastle U. B. Church. She leaves a husband, five children, father, mother, one brother and two sisters, besides a number of other relatives and friends, to more their loss.
