Jean K. Shockey *

Jean , age 88, of Lexington, passed away at her home Saturday July 4, . She was born November 10, 1931, in Pikeville, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Franklin Pierce and Maudie Keesee. Along with her parents Jean was preceded in death by her husband Harold Shockey January 15, , a son, Paul Scott Shockey on February 17, , a brother, Franklin Pierce Keesee Jr. and a sister, Eleanor .
Beginning in 1955 Mrs. Shockey worked at the Pikeville Methodist Hospital as an administrative assistant and was the liaison to the medical staff. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pikeville where she served as a deacon and elder. Jean was presented with the Distinguished Alumni award from Pikeville College of which she was very proud. She worked with and was a member of the Pikeville Rotary Club.
Jean Keesee Shockey is survived by; her son, Dr. James Steven Shockey and his wife Maria, of Lexington, Kentucky, three grandchildren, James Tyler Shockey and his wife Holly, Evin Renee Shockey, and Eric Alan Shockey and his wife Christa, and a great grandchild, Sutton Claire Shockey.
The visitation and funeral services will be private Tuesday July 7, 2020
The family will be having a memorial service when this corona virus pandemic is under control.

Private Graveside Services Will Be Held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Memorial Park in Pikeville, Ky. In Lieu of Flowers contributions be made in her memory to the University of Pikeville 147 Sycamore St., Pikeville, Ky. 41501 or the First Presbyterian Church of Pikeville, 508 Cedar Creek Rd., Pikeville, Ky. 41501.
