June A. Bowyer *

Lafayette – June Avanelle (Shockey) Bowyer went to be with her lord on January 11, 2021 at 7am. She was born to the late and Eva Shockey on June 23, 1925 in Lafayette, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her first husband Robert F. Campbell, second husband E. Bowyer and two children Pamela E. Muston and Robert J. Campbell. She attended Jefferson High School, then later on received her GED at age 40. She worked at the Warren paper, Jessup paper, Purdue and CTS, where she retired from after 22 years. She was a parent to 10 children over her retirement years. She taught Sunday School, directed plays, and was also chairman for the missionary. June loved to bake goodies to hand out and handing out candy was her favorite thing to do. She loved to read and memorize poems and scriptures.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters Margret Mills and Mary Jane , two brothers Robert and George Jr., Shockey, foster son Jack Massy, surviving wife Kay Stone; step child Marjorie Cooley and foster brother Donald Anderson.

Surviving are three stepchildren: Joe (Marlene) Bowyer, Tom (Arlene) Bowyer and Tonda (Gary) Courtney; daughter in law Linda Campbell, son in law Muston; niece Sharon (Jim) Bussell raised by June, and two grandchildren: Crystal Bartell and Tiffany Eastridge. She is also survived by 9 step-grandchildren: Dustin (Ernelie), Jason, Krystal (John), Celeste (), Chris, Catherine, Clair, Brian and Jimmy; great grandchildren: Kelsey Anderson, Brittany (Joey) Clow, Savannah (Austin) Todd, Serina and Quanita Eastridge, Chole and Liam Baker; great great grandchildren Carson , Addison , Easton Bowsman, and two babies to be born in 2021; and step great grandchildren Andrea, Lidia, Madaline, Julian, Noah, Ian, Evelyn, Dalton, Savannah, Alyssa and Christina.

Visitation will be held from 5pm – 8pm Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. A Private Funeral service by invitation only will take place Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10am with Reverend Troy Hochstetler officiating. Funeral Service will be webcasted on our website – www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Current Covid-19 precautions will be observed along with social distancing and current government attendance guidelines. Masks are required.
