Russell D. Shockey *
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Russell David (Dave) Shockey, 67, passed away peacefully, Nov. 18, 2006, in his home. Born, July 10, 1939, in Penn Yan, N.Y., he grew up in Marion, Ohio, and graduated from Marion Catholic High School in 1957. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957 through 1961.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Clyde and Dorothy Leulla (Alexander) Shockey; his brother, Jeffery Wayne Shockey; and one son, Shawn Michael Shockey.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. (Sumstine) Shockey of Greenville, S.C.; son, Garnet Thomas Shockey and wife Sherry of Spartanburg, S.C.; son, John David Shockey and wife Rose of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Heather Kay Shockey, of Greenville, S.C.; and stepdaughter, Kathy Eckle of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Mandy, Niki, Jennifer, Hannah, Khedran and Jessie; as well as one great-grandchild, Jayln. Also surviving are two sisters and two brothers, Barbara, Donna, John and Richard; and one close friend, Tony Campisi.
