Francis G. Shockey
Francis “Frank” Shockey age 91, formerly of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away in Westlake, Ohio on February 24, 2010. Dearly beloved husband of Gladys (nee Kingdom). They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 10th of this year.
Dearly loved father of David (Pat), Bob (Chris) and Linda Shockey. Loving grandfather of Lyndsay (Tim) McGuinness, Connie (Phil) Shaver, Ernie (Ai) Shockey, Frank (Jennifer) Shockey, Roger Miklavic, and Julie Shockey (fianc? Michael Osterland). Loving great grandfather of 5.
Frank was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served as the executive officer on the Landing Craft Infantry (LCI) 432 in the Philippines during World War II. He was a member of the Rocky River Masonic Temple, Lodge No. 703.
Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Frank’s name to the Bladder Cancer Research Fund c/o University of Michigan, 3003 South State St. Suite 8000, Ann Arbor Michigan, 48109-1288.
