Marilyn D. Shockey *

With great sadness the family of Marilyn D announces her passing. Marilyn was born on August 16, in Martinsburg WV and passed on March 25, in Trussville where her family have made their home for many years. Marilyn leaves behind the love of her life, Edward “Ed” Shockey who was her husband and partner for over 58 years. Marilyn also is survived by daughter Tracy Shockey, and Grandson Jonathan Kramer. Marilyn was greeted in heaven by daughter Lara Shockey. Marilyn Shockey loved her Alabama family and leaves many cousins who were more like brothers and sisters. Marilyn loved her nieces and nephews and treated them like her own children. Marilyn had the most special care givers- her husband Ed who never left her side, John Lemaster II, and Dana and Darren . Marilyn’s last days were eased by Hospice of Birmingham. The family gives special Thanks to these caregivers.Marilyn’s professional career started in Palm Beach , but ultimately led her to Trussville Alabama to work for Amerex Corporation in Trussville. Marilyn and husband Ed were instrumental in designing and implementing many of the computer systems that helped Amerex become the top fire prevention company in the world. Marilyn and husband Ed traveled the world with Amerex, and remembered those happy times in their retirement. The family will hold a remembrance ceremony at a later time to be announced. In the meantime, you donate to the charity of your choice, or to the John Lemaster Foundation for the handicapped which was a favorite charity.
