Claudia E. Shockey *

Claudia , 64, of Plano, TX passed away on August 3, after a heroic eight year battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She died at home surrounded by loved ones. Claudia will always be remembered for her humor and quick wit to all that knew and loved her.

She was born in Midwest City, OK on February 12, to Warren and Irene . Claudia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had many friends and was able to easily connect with people from all walks of life. Her wit and humor always made her the life of the party, and the room always seemed to be brighter and more lively when she was in it. You always had to be on your toes when she was around; you never knew when you might be the target of her next practical joke!

She loved travelling to her happy place, Maine. She loved The Beatles. She loved antiques. She loved tennis. She loved theme parties and trips with the girls. She loved Golden Retrievers and BMWs. She loved her family and friends. She loved life and lived it well.

Claudia is survived by her husband, Randy Shockey, and their three daughters, Peyton and her husband Justin, Lupton and her husband Chad, and Carly Shockey. She was a loving grandmother known as “Haha” to Brooks and Caroline Porter. She had many friends that were as close as family – far too many to list.

Claudia is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Irene Black, and her brother, Steve Black.

Her family and friends are deeply grateful to the loving caretakers, especially Becca, Grazie, Carol, Michelle, Marissa and Connie whose kindness and care exceeded all expectations.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 17th at 10:00 at Christ the Catholic Church in Dallas. Due to Covid, seating will be limited.”

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Claudia’s name to the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition.
