Ann L. Shockey *

Ann Louise , 75, of joined our heavenly father on Monday, August 30th. She passed away peacefully at home with her loving and faithful husband of 53 years, Paul Shockey. Ann was born on June 17, 1946 in Meyersdale, PA to Calvin and Margaret Romesburg. Ann met her husband to be, Randy in Alexandria VA in 1965 and they were engaged on Christmas Day in 1967. Ann said she was so excited about her ring that she could do nothing but stare at it for weeks. Ann and Randy were married on July 20, at Del Ray United Methodist in Alexandria, VA and started their long journey through life as husband and wife. Ann and Randy had the first two of their four children, twins, Patrick and Pamela (Kaiser) Shockey in 1971 in Alexandria, VA and brought them home to their house in Springfield VA. On November 22, 1975 Ann and Randy’s third child, Christopher Paul Shockey was born in The Alexandria hospital and their fourth child, Sean Michael Shockey, came two years later on 9, 1977. Ann spent her career in service to her country and her community working for multiple agencies in the Department of Defense assisting citizens with legal services and finally culminating her career with 10 years of service to the Stafford County Police Department. She retired from the Stafford County Sheriff’s department in 2000 to care for aging parents and took loving care of them for the remainder of their lives.

Ann is survived by her loving husband Randall Paul Shockey and each of their four children and their spouses, Patrick Shockey (Kelly), Pamela (Shockey) Kaiser, Christopher Shockey (Jennifer), and Sean Shockey. She is also survived by her 9 grand children; Claire, Cassie, , Troy (Caroline), Paige, Tyler (Amber), Alyson, , and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Margaret Romesburg, her brother David Romesburg, and her son-in- David Kaiser.

A visitation will be held from 2:00- 3:00pm Friday, September 3, 2021 at Mullins & Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm following the visitation.
