Mary L Rock *
Mary L Pirtle Rock, 79, Delphi, died at 3:30 am Thursday, Aug 3, 2006, at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette. She was born in Nashville, Tenn., on Sept 13, 1929 to Maude and Eulah D Owens Pirtle. She married Howard W Rock Sr. in Lafayette on Jan 12, 1950. He died in 1984.She lived in Lafayette for 3 years, before that Delphi and had lived in Rockfield for many years. She was a nurse's aide at the Brethren Home, Flora from 1970 to 1983.She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include daughters Lola Newman and Ruth Roberts both of Lafayette, Rosemary Lovvorn and Rosalie (Dale) McTigue both of Delphi, sons David Warren, Lafayette and Cecil Rock, Rockfield; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sisters, three brothers, two step-sons and one step daughter are decreased. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden. Services will be at 11 am Monday at the funeral home with Rev Alvin Grumbling officiating. Burial will be at Morning Heights Cemetery, Delphi.
